Greetings!

This July, more than 600 individuals from local communities and social justice organizations will come together for an historic meeting in Philadelphia. The
Convention for the Common Good will be held from July 11-13 and will feature religious leaders, policy experts, citizens, and national and local elected officials from across the country.

We will gather together to begin charting a new course for the future of our country and our movement, and planning efforts to raise up the important issues of our day in the coming elections - issues like health care, human dignity, poverty, international relations and the climate crisis. The convention will culminate with the ratification of a "Platform for the Common Good," which we will take to both the Republican and Democratic parties.

As one of the sponsoring organizations, we're asking you to represent the National Catholic Rural Life Conference as a delegate to the convention.

As a Catholic Rural Life delegate, you'll join advocates from across the country in helping to set our national agenda for the common good. You'll also have the opportunity to represent the concerns people of faith and good will in your community at this historic event, and chart a new vision for our country inspired by Catholic social teaching and the common good, not the politics of partisanship and division.

The early registration fee (before June 10, 2008) is only $175,
after which it goes up to $225. So register now at

I hope you will join us in Philadelphia!
