Green Ribbon

Campaign for a New
Farm & Food Policy

House-Senate conference committee is underway for the new Farm Bill.
Will the new Farm Bill maintain the conventional policies of the past?
Or will policy-makers set course for innovative farm, food and environmental policies urgent for the 21st Century?

Representatives of faith communities, family farm, healthy foods and conservation groups are working together to create a new Farm & Food Bill in the name of economic justice and environmental care.

Green Ribbon Campaign

The "Green Ribbon" Farm Bill Campaign of the National Catholic Rural Life Conference is our effort to provide assertive education and outreach to faith-based groups and the public.

A green ribbon symbolizes our decade-long campaign to bring hope to farm families who struggle with low farm prices, rising input costs and corporate-controlled markets.

Our 2007 Farm Bill Campaign intends to help overcome the lack of awareness and understanding of government agricultural policy. The United States is a nation able to produce great surpluses, but we still grapple with the problems of hunger and poverty both domestically and abroad.

We believe it is time to advocate for a new farm and food policy platform.
