A 2nd bi-national forum between U.S. and Mexican farmers to explore
agriculture and trade issues was held in Mexico City on February 11-12. The
forum was a continuing effort to create a culture of solidarity amidst
schemes of economic globalization. Farmers on both sides of the border came
together to explore mutual concerns of agricultural trade.

The 1st bi-national forum between U.S. and Mexican farmers to explore
agriculture and trade issues was held in Des Moines, Iowa on October 13. The
forum was an effort to create a culture of solidarity amidst schemes of
economic globalization. Farmers, scholars and journalists came together to
explore mutual concerns in the light of agricultural trade.

The day began with an invocation by the Most Reverend Joseph Charron, Bishop of Des Moines and a member of the Board of Trustees, Catholic Relief Services.
