The sisters, with the guidance of their mentor Fr Thomas Berry, cultural historian and geologian have founded Green Mountain Monastery in the northern region of Vermont. This new monastery for the 21st century is concerned with the evolution of consciousness and participation in bringing the Catholic tradition into its cosmological and planetary phase.

The sisters consider the 160 acres of boreal forest and open fields to be the monastery community in its proper perspective. The sisters have an organic garden, receive all of their electric from solar panels, heat with energy efficient Masonry Stoves, have a straw bale cottage and yurt on the land and plan to establish a Monastery Cafe in order to address local food issues as well as to create a gathering place for the cultivation and celebration of the arts. The monastery is also a place for retreat, study ! and contemplation. [2007]
