Community Dialogue

DIRECTIONS facilitates
local conversations that
will help people discover
and understand their own
resources, skills, and
knowledge.

We provide tools to listen,
learn and help community
citizens to share their
knowledge, look for
patterns and trends, state
issues, and discover
common ground for action.

New Opportunities

DIRECTIONS works to
strengthen local
livelihoods and keep
profits at home in rural
communities by:

1) helping rural people to
try new things and develop
alternatives
2) "growing" farmers for
new and local markets
3) fostering the
enterprises that make up
local food systems and
local economies
4) making connections
within local communities
and from local communities
to outside resources

Community Building

DIRECTIONS builds on
community assets with
local people. We see all
community members as
leaders when their gifts
and resources are needed
and believe communities
are strongest when all
sectors are connected and
working together.

We help communities to
strategize, plan, act
monitor, and evaluate to
create their preferred
future using their assets
and the leadership gifts of
their members supported
by a web of strong
connections.
