Jim Ennis speaks in Appalachia

Jim Ennis featured speaker at the 5th Bishop Begley Conference on Appalachia 


On March 23rd, the conference in Cherokee, North Carolina offered a day of learning and celebrating to support and highlight best practices in sustainable farming and rural development.


In the keynote address, executive director Jim Ennis spoke about rural poverty and human development, highlighting NCRLC work with the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD). National Catholic Rural Life Conference is working with CCHD to increase the number of successful CCHD grant applications from rural communities to address poverty. NCRLC’s role is to assist with research, outreach, and consulting services in rural communities using our network of contacts and investigation of other institutions and community organizations serving rural areas. The Bishop Begley Conference was organized by the Catholic Social Services - Office of Justice and Peace and Office of Economic Opportunity, Diocese of Charlotte North Carolina.
